Year-Round Youth Wrestling serving Eastern Nebraska and Western Iowa

WWC Competition Teams

We offer year-round competitive youth wrestling training in Omaha, NE.

Our club is for experienced wrestlers looking to test their skills and character through goal setting, training and wrestling competitions.  We will provide wrestling training, character education, team gatherings, friendships, fitness, and fun!

All of our coaches, athletes, and parents operate and adhere to the philosophies, curriculum and vision of Wrestling With Character.

Operating year-round, we provide organized training, education, and coaching for young athletes.  Our priorities are equally focused on character development, fitness, wrestling achievement and health education. The timeless martial art of wrestling is our vehicle to facilitate these important life lessons.

Beginning wrestlers in Kdg - 5th grade are required to complete the Passion First Wrestling Academy program prior to joining one of our competition teams.  Additionally, wrestlers new to our program or with limited previous success in competition are highly encouraged to enroll into Passion First Wrestling Academy.   Wrestling With Character’s Director of Coaching will make any final decisions regarding program enrollment.

"Embrace the Journey"

We provide coaching for our athletes at a variety of competitions throughout the year.

We believe that competition should be a fun and exciting experience for kids.  However, if not introduced and implemented appropriately, the effects can often be paralyzing to the growth and development for young athletes.

Our focus throughout competitive experiences (both good and bad) will be on the continued development of our athlete’s positive, personal character in relation to achieving their wrestling goals.

“This program lives up to its name. Coach Murphy has created an outstanding program that teaches the kids much more than wrestling skills. They are building character traits that carry over into many other areas of life. My son is learning true sportsmanship through a thoughtfully designed program.

We are proud to be part of this organization and so thankful to the coaching staff that helps develop these skills in our son.”

Create Your Own Season

Starting this fall we will no longer divide our competitive team training into separate seasons for participation. Instead, we are allowing families to create their own season.

This will allow families the flexibility to choose their participation and commitment level to wrestling during any time of year that is convenient to them. Wrestlers can simply sign up and discontinue as needed with a two month minimum commitment.

A season would be considered the time of year that a wrestler is committed to attending at least two practices per week and eligible for competitions. In season wrestlers have the option of attending up to 3 practices a week. We will offer a year-round competitive wrestling tournament schedule for all levels. Competition participation is always optional.

Additionally, we will offer a 1 practice per week maintenance option for any wrestlers (hopefully most) who choose to continue their wrestling journey on a limited basis during times of the year when wrestling can not be their primary activity. There is no minimum commitment for the one practice per week option.
